What's on ......
Monday was a great event for the Mount Evelyn Christian School staff. Over 100 members of the school came to the Club for morning tea and a bowl. They really enjoyed it - almost as much as we did! And the PE team were a standout - some very good bowling by all of them. Thanks again to Effie for his tireless efforts in organising these funtcions and his helpers - Beryl, Robert, Gerda, Ed & Rob.
The Vic Open is being run in Shepparton from the 18th to the 24th of this month. Entries close on the 10th. For more information, check out "Bowls Australia and Bowls Victoria" under "NEWS" on this site.
Friday night - Sponsored by Yarra Valley Bowls Shop, we had a bowls event at the Club from 4pm - 2-bowl Triples. It was fun night prior to Happy Hour and Faye, Wally & Ivan were the winners (despite some interesting biased bowling). Nick also brought an array of merchandise with him and made some sales.

Working with Children Check
Members: As we develop the Club's activities for the Community, there is a desire to approach the Schools to add Bowling to their Curriculum. In order to do this, each Member of the Club who assists with this project, must have a WWCC (Working with Children Check). As our illustrious Men's Secretary has found out, it is a very simple process that we would like you all to consider. Here is a quote of Terry's experience:
Hi Members, recently I had to obtain a WWCC needed for a Coaching Course I hope to do.
I am just letting you know it is a very simple procedure. You fill out your application form online, print it out, then take the form to the Post Office where they take a picture of you and that is it.
I took my form to the P.O. on Friday the 15th Sept. and was passed on Monday the 18th. Sept. (weekend included). My card with picture and details will arrive in 2 weeks.
There is no cost involved as we are volunteers.?
